U14 Girls Basketball Update

We are half way through the middle school basketball season and the U14 Girls team is progressing well and negotiating the challenges of only having three grade 8 students commit to the program who have in turn stepped up and provided some leadership to the younger players in grade 7.

The recent exchange tournament was a tough ordeal for the black team who participated in division 1 and won just one game against ISB, big losses came to BIBA, DCB and a narrow loss to Keystone. The yellow team travelled to the division 4 tournament and also beat ISB (always nice) but like the black team, they lost their remaining games to BCIS and THIS.

We are mixing the players up and trying various combinations and positions, but with the end of season tournament looming in 4 weeks, we will attempt to split into 2 separate teams to facilitate tournament preparation. We have two tough games still to come with DCB at home as well as BSB. The black team will have a second game against the Junior Varsity in the closing week of the season.
